The PMB-C is an adapter module that enables one or two 32-bit or 64-bit PMC modules to be used in a 32-bit or 64-bit 6U CompactPCI slot. 33 MHz and 66 MHz PMC modules can be used, and the board operates in CompactPCI backplane of 32-bits or 64-bits.

An active PMC adapter, with an Intel 21154-BE PCI-PCI bridge, the PMB-C isolates the PMC positions from the CompactPCI bus. It meets the requirements of PICMG 2.0 Revision 3.0 for CompactPCI boards.

The carrier is also fully "Hot Swap" compliant, meeting the PICMG 2.1 specification. Rear-panel I/O from both PMC positions is available on CompactPCI J3 and J5.
